Technical Solutions, a leading business communications provider, announced today that the company recently fulfilled the technology needs of the Childers Place Nursing Home, a facility associated with the Mary E. Bivins Foundation. Technical Solutions has provided exceptional service and state-of-the-art communications technology to the Mary E. Bivins Foundation for over 15 years.
"We switched our computer services from a competitor years ago because of the impressive way Technical Solutions handled our phone system applications and support," said Paul Sneed, CFO / Director of Housing Services for the Mary E. Bivins Foundation. "The service component is by far the most value to us. We feel we are partners in our business and their business. Technical Solutions has other clients but you would never know it by the way we are treated. Their responsiveness and professionalism are consistent year in and year out. The relationship has allowed us to expand our dreams of wanting to be on the cutting edge of technology and realizing there is more available than what we had dreamed of. Technical Solutions has done a great job of keeping us on that edge while balancing the fiscal responsibility aspect. Gene Wells and his team are innovators and dreamers, qualities that have greatly benefited our business. As a result of our strong relationship, Technical Solutions fulfilled our needs for the Childers Place Nursing Home."
After a thorough needs analysis Technical Solutions installed a number of technology solutions including an Austco Nurse Call System, which acts as a centralized interface to several distinct systems within the Childers Place facility. In addition to a nurse call system, it integrates a Dementia Control System, Pocket Paging System, Call Management Software and a Patient Wandering System. All systems are hardwired and wireless with access to the network for patient information, dietary, charts, and medication. The nurse call system provides 2-way voice communications using tones, alerts, and visual communications. Call stations are back lit with silicone buttons to provide visibility at all times and a cleanable surface.
The advanced technology allows the nursing home to equip the dementia call system with patient profiles to program the system to basically read the residents habits. All events are reported and tracked to provide critical information. The call management software and system facilitates all of the critical information from each individual system into a central location to give management required information to improve staff and equipment decisions.
The Xmark Systems RoamAlert Patient Wandering System provides a total solution for wander prevention. The RoamAlert system features individual user passwords for software access and bypassing exits, so that only authorized staff can escort a resident through a door. The RoamAlert system enables facility managers to customize the level of protection for each resident—letting them pass through some exits, but not others—giving them the maximum freedom compatible with their safety. Furthermore, Access Control Systems and CCTV System on all doors, parking lots and in certain areas inside the nursing home create a safe environment. Internet access and email capabilities function in all rooms and in central areas for family members, while workstations and basic telecom services are provided for residents if desired.
"We’ve had the privilege of doing business with one of the finest organizations in the country for a long time," stated Gene Wells, president of Technical Solutions. "We are extremely proud of long lasting partnerships with our customers like The Mary E. Bivins Foundation. The technology we offer has helped enhance the lives of so many people that the foundation supports. This makes our job even more meaningful."
